Clearing the Giants Again!

Vintage on King Tranix Throne RoomAn old screenshot of Vintage in Tranix’s Throne Room back in the day…

Another trip down memory lane… we successfully cleared all of the Fire Giants again and determined that we’ll probably give our red friends a break for two weeks as we try to push our clerics into leveling up so we can go after bigger and badder targets.

Congrats to Madven and Hungus on the Mithril Vambracers (one pair from guild bank), Dunkirk on Tranix Crown and Famnoodle on Polished Mithril Mask!

In attendance we had: Barrett, Dooks, Dunkirk, Famnoodle, Gnomery, Lulzcat, Madven, Nicol, Rictus, Unity and Wejbot.

Fire Giants Practices

Vintage scheduled another Fire Giants raid last night so we could practice the art of lots of gnomes and midget ogres versus the ugly red skyscrapers. Our goal is to get a raid force used to the old raiding habits we used back in the day and get everyone comfortable with raiding with each other.

I’d say we’re moving along very nicely, with monks who are able to drag corpses, buffers getting a monk fully buffed seconds after being ressed, and everyone remembering the little things such as positioning, calling for dps to assist, belly casting nukes, and other trivial things we took for granted of automatically doing at our prime. For most of us, we’re also playing classes we’ve never played before, so we’re learning a lot of new things about not only the game, but the character’s we’ve rolled on Al’Kabor.

One thing’s for certain – we will definitely need more clerics for future raids! Wipes are horrible, but with one cleric we do damn well with the small force we have. With more clerics, the game really opens up! Our resident pro monk left early on (rumors are he ate some weird fungus growing on the walls of Sol B and his character’s could not move or respond and eventually died to a roaming bat, in short, he fell asleep at the keyboard lol). So our new-to-monks pulled and we cleared everything but Magus. Congrats to Lulzcat on the Polished Mithril Torque and congrats Guild Bank on Mithril Vambracers.

Our highest attendance to date (although some were late), we had: Shuvit, Bibble, Wejbot, Torrad, Barrett, Dooks, Nicol, Rictus, Brawndo, Dunkirk, Lulzcat, Monkus, Athlete, Harold and Unity.

We’ll probably do one or two more FG practices and then move on to POH and Phinny as soon as another cleric levels up to join us on our adventures!

EQ Atlas on Vintage

Since the EQAtlas.com website has gone down, I am working on a project to host the maps on our website as a resource for the community. Many of the pages I am re-doing so check back as a few more will be added daily until they’re all up on our website in the next few days. I’m only hosting the Classic Zones for now since that is the limitations of our guild and because it’s a couple of hours of work to get these maps online again. Hopefully we’ll all get some use out of it, I know I will!

Fire Giants, meet Vintage

After filling most our bellies with turkey and potatoes, Vintage put it on ourselves to work off everything we ate so we wouldn’t become pot bellied halflings. Us gnomes have to keep in shape ya know! It was obviously a little too late for Shuvit, but we still love him anyways.

We cleared all of the Fire Giants tonight, congrats to Barrett on the Polished Mithril Mask, Monkus on the Polished Mithril Torque and Guild Bank on the Mithril Vambracers. I’m sure we’ll find a good home for them.

In attendance were: Shuvit, Bibble, Wejbot, Torrad, Barrett, Joban, Madven, Dooks, Rictus, Dunkirk, Monkus, and Unity.

Also tonight we are proud to promote Dooks as Vintage’s new officer. Dooks was one of the first to join Vintage from DHS and has been an integral part of the transition for many other DHS’ers. He has also been proactively recruiting and introducing new players on Al’Kabor to the progression theme. Dooks has been a big part of leading raids and we look forward to continued growth and success with him helping us lead the guild. Cheers, Dooks!
