Plane of Hate Weekend Part I

Vintage organized a visit to our old friend Innoruuk last night bringing 10 of our bravest adventurers. We knew it would be a challenge, especially without a monk to bait his minions into our groups but nevertheless, we attempted it.

The break in was very smooth, ressed who had died along the way and then proceeded to clear the corner and the nearby mobs. Scorn banshees, haunted chests and kirakeui’s died, one after another, until the inevitable happened, a spite golem ran for his life and told his friends we were here! Luckily at about the same time, our friend Cart from Dead Halfling Society ported into the plane and helped us get back on our feet. Cart, using his evil pulling tactics brought us more minions to destroy.

Our first break in wasn’t perfect, we did wipe a few times, once was completely my fault, learning the hard way that those clerics can see me through the house walls! Unfortunately, no loot dropped from the ones we did kill.

Last night’s raid was more of a scouting trip, to see what we could handle as our small force in Vintage and DHS friends, and we’ll be back Sunday to push on some more!

Information and Rules for Raiding Plane of Hate

These are the things that you should know for the Vintage Plane of Hate Raids:

Be Prepared:
* It will be a long raid. It can take up to or more than 4 hours to break and clear if we plan on farming gear.
* Prepare for this and get any RL food, smokes, drinks, etc you will need for this long session. EQ Raids were long and if we are to be a raiding guild, we’ll have to get used to it again.
* Also make sure you have enough food/drink in your character’s bags so you do not run out during the raid. Make sure you have enough reagents for any spells you need to cast for the next few hours.
* Raid leaders will have some reagents to hand out to specific classes. Hate stones for the raid are covered by the RL. If you come late, you need to provide your own Hate stone for the port up.
* Please be ready to go 15minutes before the raid starts. We will all meet at the South Ro Wizard Spires. Druids can port there via Succor: Ro and Wizards can port via Evacuate: Ro.
* A Main Tank/Assist will be designated. Please set your assist keys before the raid starts.

The Break-In:
* Before we zone up, everybody needs to know WHERE the camp site is, and how to get there. There is a map at EQ Atlas: Plane of Hate.
* The initial camp is in the SouthWest corner, just north of the house in the SW corner with the three dots (imps trap). There are two routes, running north on the wall and going counter-clockwise around the zone is less agro via pathers, while going south is quicker with more risk of agro. We will be running counter-clockwise.
* You need to run 3/4 the way up the wall to avoid agro from below and agro from the 2nd floor. Do not run too high up on the wall!
* If invis breaks, or you get seen by a mob, DO NOT TRAIN IT TO THE SW CORNER CAMP. Die along the wall and we will drag you. Getting a /loc will help too.
* Once you get to the SW corner, camp out on the wall. If you are a class with Feign Death, FD nearby to be our eyes and let the raid leader know when to log people back in.
* If you are successful in camping out, log into an alt account and join our raiding channel by typing “/join vintage”. We will relay information to you there and when it is safe for you to log back in.
* Once you are rezzed or logged in, do not move from the designated camp spot. Do not roam or wander or explore.

Forming the Raid:
* Parties will be pre-designated prior to porting to Hate. There will be a pull group, a Main Assist, and a Main Tank.
* Once everyone is rezzed and logged back in, immediately form into these groups and begin buffing. If you are missing a buff, send a tell to the appropriate buffer character, do not use /rs for personal buff requests.
* Healers will need to join the healers channel.

The Pulls:
* A pull team consisting of (ideally) a monk, rogue, enchanter and warrior will be FD pulling roamers and houses into a designated spot.
* The FD puller will try to separate mobs and either he or the rogue will notify when the warrior should pull the mob.
* Once the raid is engaged, the FD puller should /quit and relog to clear any agro should he decide it is needed.
* The puller should body pull the mob and walk it back to the camp.
* This process may take a few attempts. The pull team may experience deaths. Please be patient as they try not to train and wipe the raid.
* Everyone should be standing when the pull comes in to not receive sitting agro.

The Fights:
* Allow the Main Tank to establish agro on the mob for a couple of rounds.
* The Main Tank will call for assist, which is when everyone else should start DPSing.
* Do not DoT or Nuke until the mob is at least below 70%. Do not AOE. Do not use pets until the raid leader says it is okay to do so.
* If the order for clerics to camp is called, clerics should get on the wall and camp immediately. Everyone else who is not a cleric needs to protect the clerics as they camp out to the death!

Concerning Loot:
* All gems will go to the RL to cover the costs of Hate stones, peridots, and other reagents and for future raids. Players who brought their own reagents will also be compensated.
* All words, runes, pages, etc will be given to the guild bank.
* All loot will be distributed using a VKP System which Wejbot has setup and is maintaining. Please visit our VKP rules page for more information: VKP Rules.

Leaving Early:
* If you need to leave early, please notify the raid leader at least 30 minutes before. ESPECIALLY if you’re melee so we can port you out.

Additional Rules to Live By:
* DO NOT DUEL BEFORE OR DURING RAIDS UNLESS OK’d BY THE RAID LEADER TO LEAVE A CORPSE.
* DO NOT TRAIN THE RAID, EVER. SERIOUS ACTIONS WILL BE TAKEN. JUST DIE AND WAIT FOR A DRAG AND REZ.
* THESE RAIDS ARE LONG, DO NOT MAKE THEM ANY LONGER THAN THEY HAVE TO BE OR YOU WILL BE REMOVED FROM THE RAID.

I have led multiple Hate raids years ago pre-Kunark, there will be a little bit to relearn such as agro, pulls and pathing, but it can be done. If you are interested in learning how to lead or pull or anything, also let me know and I will gladly teach you what I know!

If you come on these raids, you should be there to help your guild mates gear up and they will be there to help you gear up. We are already a small community within a small community, do not be selfish and greedy to the people who are here to help you and in return need your help (such as future POF raids, etc). They’re just pixels!!

Plane of Hate Raids

The majority of our current roster are classes whose gear is dropped in Plane of Hate, so we will be focusing on only Hate raids for the next few raid nights. The goal is to get at least our warriors geared up so Fear will be more formidable when we have enough of the classes who need to go there to get gear.

This Sunday’s Plane of Fear raid on Sunday has been changed to Hate, however should anyone want to join in DHS’s Fear raid Saturday, contact Shlomo in game or on our forums. They usually start at 12pm EST and farm gear for most of the afternoon.

Tentative Guild Goals

We’re currently inviting new members of all levels to join our nostalgic blast to the past journey. If you are unsure of what class to roll, consider a porter class, cleric, enchanter or rogue!

The short term plans are to raid fire giant raids with 2 groups frequently, and a plane once a week to gear our 46-50′s with planar. We’ll then be able to hand down/farm gear for the lower levels to help new players out. We’ll have nights where we are power leveling anybody who wants the help catching up, and other nights farming gear together like FBSS and Golden Efreeti Boots. Catch us on our forums if you’d like to join in on our shenanigans or have any proposed events you’d like us to do!

One of the most frequently asked questions I’ve gotten in the past week was “What’s the difference between Vintage and Dead Halfling Society?”. Well, not much. DHS is preparing to unlock Kunark with a few more dragon kills, while Vintage is a new guild that is going to be calling the old world home for the next few months. We won’t have the numbers for a Naggy or Vox raid for perhaps a few weeks but until then we’ll be gearing up and enjoying the other raid content Original EQ has to offer.

Welcome to Custodes Desetorum?

The servers went down yesterday and when they finally came back up, our in-game guild tag had been changed from Vintage to Custodes Desetorum (anybody know what that is?) I sent a petition in and it will hopefully be fixed tonight, until then, we are unable to do guild invites due to a “Guild does not exist” error. We apologize for the inconvenience as we work this bug out with the GMs.

*Edit I’ve been told it’s the GM guild. Too bad invite’s wont work or we’d all be in it!

Welcome to <Vintage>

Vintage was formed today on the Al’Kabor EQ Mac server as a Progression Raiding Guild. Our goals are to simply have fun on a low population server and raid the classic mobs for the vintage loot we once treasured.
